As the weather starts to get cooler, I find myself looking for a warm bowl of soup. One of my favorite soups is Butternut Squash. There is just something about the flavor of butternut squash that is perfect in a soup. I was speaking to my friend, Kim Yap, and she has a delicious Butternut Squash Soup recipe. Once she told me about this, I knew I had to make a video and share it you. We all know that I’m not a chef. Thankfully, Kim is a chef, so you know that this recipe is going to be good!
One of the great things about being around chefs is that you can learn so much about food and cooking by just listening to them. In this video, Kim talks about cutting all the vegetables the same size so they all cook at the same time. I used to just chop up all my vegetables and never paid attention to the size. Of course, Kim also displays here insane knife skills, which I recommend that you do not try at home, unless you’re a chef. She also talks about not putting the herbs into the pot to quickly because you may burn them. Another pro tip I learned from Kim.
One of the great things about this soup, and most soups in general, is how easy it is to make. Once you pick your ingredients and decide on a flavor, all you have to do is cook everything and then blend it all up. Hopefully the weather here in Southern California will start to cool down soon. Even if it doesn’t, I think I still make this soup. Let me know what your favorite soup is or if you make this Butternut Squash Soup. What did you think of this recipe?
